Often times when Blizzard is spending vast amounts of resources and manpower developing the latest super-cool dungeon(see Black Temple), it creates Raid Dungeons with dynamically-paced encounters and trash to control how fast end game guilds run out of new things to do. These Filler Content dungeons usually start out with ridiculously long and painful trash, with the average mob having no less than 400,000,000,000 HP. On top of that, often times said trash will respawn before you even reach the next boss. Filler dungeons will often times be of low quality design, using only the most basic textures on the models of bosses and environments. Also, no filler dungeons start out with voice acting actually implemented, further taking away from any sort of enjoyment one may experience as a direct result of being in the Filler Dungeon.

Symptoms of Filler Content

  • A single pull takes >5 minutes when properly executed
  • The trash to a boss takes more than 45 minutes on a good clear
  • You get less than 5 attempts in on a boss before people start mentioning mobs starting to respawn behind
  • The doodads in a boss's room have absolutely nothing to do with the NPC's in said instance unless there is lore precendence. (See barrels)
