Strath, short for Stratholme, is a lvl 56-60 instance/raid located in Eastern Plaguelands which is split between 2 sides. A living side and an undead side, Both of which have their own bosses and routes but are technically connected by a couple of pathways. Initially intended as a 10man raid instance eventually scaled down some rough spawns during Patch 1.6.0 and was later had a player cap drop to 5. Stratholme was redone during the Cataclysm launch with patch 4.0.3 and was changed to a 42-56 instance as well as having boss and mob changes.

Scarlet/Live Stratholme

Scarlet Strath is what was usually considered the shorter half of Stratholme which contained 4 main bosses and 5 optional bosses. Known for the place to farm Righteous Orbs used in high end crafting and Crusader Enchants. Upon entering there were a bunch of ghostly citizens who appeared neutral. It was possible to attack them intentionally or by mistake and eventually became annoying. You could do a short quest outside nearby to get an Egon Blaster which let you turn them into friendly harmless wisps. Another alternative was to /dance in order to have them turn to you and dance as well which was quite amusing.

  • Main bosses
    • Timmy the Cruel - Blocking the pathway at the scarlet headquarters entrance.
    • Saidan Dathrohan/Balnazzar - End of the long set of hallways. Drops Truefaith vestments tailoring recipe as well as Book of the Dead.
  • Optional bosses
    • Cannon Master Willey / Willey Hopebreaker - Known for dropping Shadowcraft Spaulders and a bunch of other random blue gear
    • Archivist Galford / Instructor Galford - Known for dropping a randomized stat Cape or Offhand as well as a 100% drop rate on a Righteous Orb.
    • Skul (Rare) - Known for dropping sick frost resist plate tanking chest, a sick shadow damage wand, and AP leather gloves.
    • Jarien and Sothos - Summoned for the long .5 dungeon set questline.
    • Hearthsinger Forresten - Tagged as rarespawn but really just has multiple different spawns he can appear at. Known for dropping the Piccolo of the Flaming Fire, trinket that made people dance around you on use. Later became a toy.
    • The Unforgiven - Known for dropping Mask of the Unforgiven, a Leather helm with 2% hit and 1% crit.
    • Postmaster Malown - To find and kill Postmaster Malown you have to fuck around with the Stratholme mail system but in order to open the mailboxes located all around Strath, you have to find and kill Stratholme Courier. Once you've obtained the 3 unique keys, you then have to wander around trying to find each mailbox associated with those 3 keys. There are 6 mailboxes in total. The reward for killing Postmaster Malown is a chance to get a piece of The Postmaster.

Undead Stratholme

Undead Stratholme was known to be much more lengthy. During the 0.5 dungeon set questline there was a quest to come in and do this within a 45 minute timer which was pretty tricky for how dangerous and lengthy this place was. It contains 6 bosses and a patrolling rarespawn.

Nintoxicated was known for tanking these like crazy. Freezythree first learned about line of sight pulling trash packs from Nintoxicated inside Undead Stratholme and was in complete awe.

  • Main bosses
    • Baroness Anastari - Known as one of the three minibosses required to open the gate toward Ramstein. Loves to MC people and cause a world of pain.
    • Nerub`enkan - Known as one of the three minibosses. Webs casters and destroys people with his scarab bullshit.
    • Maleki the Pallid - One of the three minibosses. Does shadow damage and casts shadowbolts.
