Barrel canon

From CSM Wiki v2
Jump to navigation Jump to search

The barrel canon is the list of phrases that have been stricken by the the barrel phemonenom. Generally, they're either questions that were asked twelve too many times in Ventrilo or guild chat, or particularly epic quotations made by past or present guild members.

It's guild custom to, whenever you see someone utter anything that looks like a phrase from the barrel canon, offer another phrase from the barrel canon in reply.

The Abridged Canon

Can I get this MC Attunement quest again?

Started By : Unknown. Probably impossible to tell.
Background : When Blizzard added the teleportation crystal as a more convenient mechanism for entering Molten Core, the Molten Core attunement quest mysteriously became available to players who'd already completed it. The question of whether the quest needed to be completed again was probably asked in total seriousness no less than 25 times.

Who's wrathing my dragon?

Started By : Fallen
Background : Fallen was responsible for sleeping a dragonkin during the trash following Vaelastrasz. Hampering his efforts were the Wrath casts of a mysterious, unidentified druid, which Fallen protested in one of the guild's more memorable whine moments. He soon discovered that HE was wrathing his own dragonkin. I think. Yep that's right.

Why are there barrels in BWL?

Once CSM defeated Vael. We noticed the next room had a bunch of barrels in it. Someone asked "Why are there barrels here?" Magy went into a 5 min lore description about Dwarfs and how they built BWL and how they were run out. over the course of the same night about Two more people asked the same question.

Heal Jody

Would be called out(Shadowalker) when Jody was near death. Now called out when any tank is near death.

Coins and Bijous

Back when ZG was new and interesting. Coins and Bijous were in high demand, for rep and items. No one is CSM knew that they could be sold on the AH. There were a couple people on vent when someone casually said "hey you can AH coins and Bijous." Later that day there were about five people who busted into vent and with mass enthusiasm "YOU CAN BUY COINS AND BIJOUS ON THE AH!" which was followed by "You can buy Coins and Bijous?" just to entertain ourselves. I'm sure H was one of those people. What added to this was CSM members were the first to put them on the AH.

Frost Cleave

During the short time we had Fumanchu MTing for us in Naxxaramas we were beginning our first attempts on Sapphrion and we were trying to figure out exactly how the encounter worked what what kind of damage was what. Fumanchu asked us if he needed to be wearing his Frost Resistance and was insisting that his combat log said the cleave was frost damage. Eventually we figured it out and had him wear real gear.

Is Rejuvenation a spell?

Started by: Druid(Unknown(So many bad druids))
About: Spell proc trinket(BWL)

Have we dropped a bot yet guys? Where's the bot?

This began some time in AQ/Naxx days, with 40 people around it was often difficult to spot and we had many people (see Shadowalker) miss them. It probably began when someone got tired of people asking if we had botted shortly after a raid leader just mentioned we would be shortly.

What's the cooldown on Ice Lance?

Has anyone even talked to Smu?

This was started one evening at the beginning of a Hyjal clear, Smu had stopped logging on and we were discussing where he had gone. Krazzi had a short chat with him on MSN and copy/pasted a couple of lines. Whitemage then asked if anyone had spoken to him and we spent the next five minutes at least asking each other if we'd spoken to Smu, Jody even got a angry at us on Vent.

Have you heard about the changes to Iceblock?

Following the release of the patch notes for patch 2.3.2 Ice Block became trainable, the next two days were full of (slow) people talking about them and the most notable was the changes to Ice Block.

GOF's in BT?

One evening someone got killed outside of BT by GoF while zoning in and someone was somewhat shocked that they were there. Another person mentioned that they'd actually progressed somewhat and were on Bloodboil or Gorefiend or something, after a short discussion about their progress someone butted in and was even more shocked than the original person that GoF was indeed in BT (It's highly likely that this person was Pinoy but I dont remember clearly, confirm/deny anyone?).

Your hat is AWESOOOOOOME

Started By : Atena, Krazzi, Whitemage
Background : Mow and Tom liked this really shitty, not-funny cartoon on YouTube, a lot. Whitemage found it to be such a steaming piece of shit that he decided to run the video into the ground by constantly repeating variations of a memorable line from the cartoon, "Your hat is ________". It turned out that the only proper response was straight out of the cartoon, which had "My hat is awesooooomeeee". And as it turns out, it's a pretty good response to, well, anything, really. And by "not-funny" Whitemage actually meant FUCKING HILARIOUS. See here --> ADVENTURE TIME!

Bearly

This is a Manbeast special. While playing on Magichooves he once exclaimed he 'barely' did something (killed something maybe?), as a druid it was funny because he can become a bear, get it? This evolved into shouting BEARLY on vent and yelling it ingame whenever anyone typed it/said it, was very confusing for people who had no idea what was going on and this happened alot in BTYM raids in SSC.

Do you think we're getting 2.4 tomorrow guys?

The PTRs had just been shut down after 2.4 testing and the release seemed imminent, many people decided to ask each others opinions multiple times throughout the couple of days before the shutdown that week. Lutes guaranteed it. It turns out he was right and 2.4 did come out that week.

RaidInfo says the instance is resetting in 24 hours!

Wait there's a rogue in the raid?

During Nighthold farm, Covet had realized near the end that we had a rogue in the raid which we had from the very beginning.

Guys, did you know there are arrows on the map?

During Tomb of Sargeras, blizzard introduced in-raid map icons for transitions between map segments. These look like little doors with arrows on them. On the day they were introduced, every member of the raid thought they would be clever and point out how these worked on voice chat.
