The elevator boss is possible one of the most difficult encounters in the game, almost everyone gets slain at one time or another, but it always seems to be those with some kind of a slow/safe fall that plow into the ground. It even gets its own event on the Armory so everyone can see how good you are.
Recent elevator bosses can be found in Icecrown Citadel and Blackwing Descent.
