Achievement
Blizzard introduced the Achievement system with their 2nd expansion, Wrath of the Lich King. Achievements are classified in different categories such as Dungeons & Raids, Player versus Player, Exploration, Quests, etc. For the most part, completing achievements is pointless as the only reward you get from them are achievement points (also known as nerd points) which are just for bragging rights and serve no real purpose in-game. However, some of the most difficult and/or just plain tedious achievements award titles, tabards and in some cases special items such as mounts.

Heroic Raid
The Immortal
The Immortal is a Dungeons & Raids achievement that requires raiders to successfully complete an Heroic Naxxramas run without having any player die during any of the boss encounters within the instance. The catch is that if you have someone die, the achievement is instantly failed: you cannot wipe on purpose and try again.
CSM finally accomplished this achievement on 2/06/09, server-first.
Terrible Players who have screwed up The Immortal
- Scoobe, by Life Tapping right as Decimate went off during Gluth.
- Supa and Verick, by getting chained by Sir Zeliek's Holy Wrath during The Four Horsemen.
- Batgirl, Verick, and Stilz. by completely blowing at polarity switches during Thaddius. Bonus points to Stilz for standing next to Thaddius when he became active and nearly getting one shot, only to die on the first shift due to "system hiccup."
- Goris, fat-fingering Disengage instead of Raptor Strike as he was running to the other side on a Polarity Shift.
Heroic: Shocking!
This achievement revolves around defeating the Thaddius encounter within Naxxramas without having anyone in the raid cross charges with another player. This achievement has been obtained by CSM.
Terrible Players who have screwed up Heroic: Shocking!
- Too many to mention, really. The top offenders are: Darkspectre and Batgirl.
- Zelf, by pulling aggro and getting smashed by Thaddius. Even though no one got shocked, the achievement was bugged at the time and it was instantly failed if someone died.
- Goris, by fat-fingering Disengage instead of Raptor Strike as he was running past Thaddius to get to the opposite side during a polarity shift.
Heroic: You Don't Have An Eternity
This achievement asks players to defeat Malygos The Spellweaver in the Eye of Eternity in 5 minutes or less. The achievement is very poorly designed and requires a strategy that revolves around stacking the raid with Druids and Death Knights as well as a lot of ranged DPS, which contradicts Blizzard's WOTLK motto of Bring the Player, not the Class!
CSM achieved this one on 2/06/09, server-first, a week after pulling a 6:01 Malygos kill, and approximately 3 weeks after pulling off a 5:05 kill before the Achievement criteria got changed.
Terrible Players who have screwed up Heroic: You Don't Have An Eternity
- Any druid, failing to root their Sparks before they get to Malygos.
- Any druid, failing to keep their Sparks rooted in place.
- Caliskunk, Thunderstorming the group of Sparks and scattering them all over the place right as the raid was getting ready to kill them.
Normal Raid
Gonna Go When the Volcano Blows
For this achievement the player must go the entire Sartharion encounter without getting nailed by a falling ember (Lava Strike). This achievement is particularly annoying and somewhat hard to do even if you do it on a zero-drake Sartharion because of the 10% enrage, where Lava Strikes spam the whole area. Due to this, Isiah put together a group to get a few people the achievement. The idea was that a few people who had the achievement would stay alive while a group of about 6 people would get low on the lava, and immediately die at the start of the encounter before getting hit by a Lava Strike, thus ensuring credit for the achievement once the encounter was beaten.
Terrible Players who have screwed up Gonna Go When the Volcano Blows
- Scoobe, when his only job was to die he managed to get nailed by Lava Strike before dying making the raid wipe and start over. Bonus points for taking about 30 seconds to die because he forgot to get low in the lava, nevermind that he is a Warlock and has Life Tap and Hellfire.
He Feeds On Your Tears (25 Player)
This achievement requires you to defeat Algalon the Observer without any raid member dying during that lockout. Similar to The Immortal

Heroic
Less-Rabi
This achievement revolves around interrupting Moorabi's increasingly-fast transformation casts. One time, Whitemage's warlock's felhunter got an interrupt at 12%, totally in the blind, causing his group to get the achievement. It was so fucking awesome. You should have seen it.
