A Rejuvenating Gem, safely banked and far away from any skilled and properly-specced healers.

The Rejuvenating Gem is an incredibly powerful healing trinket found in Blackwing Lair.

As is the case with any quality healer loot, the power of the Rejuvenating Gem is matched only by CSM's complete and total inability to get the damned thing to drop. Additionally, the trinket has displayed a tendency to fall into the hands of arguably less-deserving players. As such, the Rejuvenating Gem is viewed by CSM's priest community as a true mark of player skill and dedication, and it is widely believed that a CSM raider must hold a Rejuvenating Gem from a CSM instance in order to be considered truly great.

Source

The Rejuvenating Gem drops from the three drake bosses -- Firemaw, Ebonroc, and Flamegor -- in Blackwing Lair. That is, when they aren't dropping bad cloth belts, pinecone staves, Ring of Blackrocks, Black Ass Robe, fist weapons, tier 2 gloves, rogue shadow resist chestpieces, and ... well ... mostly just Ring of Blackrock.

History

The first Rejuvenating Gem dropped from Firemaw, some time after the guild's first Nefarian kill. Whitemage took the item as the first remotely significant upgrade he obtained from the instance, outbidding Vrak and his newly-christened Robes of Transcendence.

Following this, the item was seen no more than once every two months, and was awarded to a cacophony of players who either did not want to heal, or were exceptionally poor at it. Indeed, the loot tribulations undergone by Kendoch in Blackwing Lair are by now the stuff of legend.
