Trying hard is a term used to describe a set of characteristic behaviors allowing a party or raid to increase their rate of success.
A person who is trying hard might:
- Rigorously review combat logs to find main sources of damage or other problems that are holding back progression
- Knowing all the mechanics of fights and devising clever strategies that abuse them
- Having in-depth knowledge about ones own or another's class to maximize your character's throughput.
- Keeping an eye on shitty players that might wipe the party or raid
- Spend more time playing games than is healthy
